LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root Along with Detective Bryon Lawson, K-9 Deputy Jake Miller, and Deputy Dylan Messer and other Sheriff's detectives and deputies and members of the Southeast regional SRT arrested three individuals off Vaughn Ridge Road approximately 4 miles west of London.
The arrests occurred on December 23, 2020 while Officers were conducting an unrelated investigation and found three individuals there locating one subject that had an indictment warrant for Meth charges, one subject wanted as a parole violator who had been convicted on drug charges and also located one subject with:
- Suspected Methamphetamine
- Suspected Heroin
- Digital scales
The three arrested individuals were identified as:
James Brian Hart age 47 of Vaughn Ridge Rd., London charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Heroin
- Possession of Drug paraphernalia
In addition, this subject was charged on a Clay County bench warrant of arrest charging
- Failure to appear in court
Teddy Vaughn age 59 of Vaughn Ridge Rd., London charged on a Laurel Circuit Court indictment warrant of arrest charging:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine;
- Trafficking in Marijuana
In addition, this subject was charged on a second Laurel Circuit Court indictment warrant charging:
- Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon
Andrew Purvis age 40 of Alexandria Dr., Lexington charged on a Kentucky parole board parole violation warrant charging:
- Failure to report arrest within 72 hours to parole officer
- Absconding parole supervision
- Leaving area of supervision without permission of parole officer
- Failure to report to parole officer as directed regarding a conviction in Jefferson Circuit Court on charges of:
- Manufacturing Methamphetamine
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense
- Escape – second-degree
In addition, this subject was charged on a Madison District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Failure to appear in court
Also, the subject was charged on a Fayette District Court bench warrant of arrest charging Failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – third offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Drug paraphernalia
Also, the subject was charged on a Madison District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first offense – Fentanyl
- Contempt of court

All three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
