LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brent France along with Deputy Hunter Disney arrested Buddy E. Vaughn age 26 of Coldiron, KY on Monday night February 1, 2021 at approximately 11:32 PM.
The arrest occurred at apartments off American Greeting Card Road approximately 8 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a domestic violence complaint there.
Upon arrival at the scene deputies conducted an investigation and found the suspect hiding under a bed. The suspect scuffled with deputies kicking and attempting to punch deputies before being taken into custody.
While being escorted to the police cruiser, the subject continued to curse and scream and kick at both deputies on scene.
Once in the police cruiser, the subject continually head butted the protective screen in the police cruiser causing head lacerations to himself.
Deputies radioed for EMS to respond to the scene to check the subject and while being transported by the EMS crew to a local hospital to be checked, this subject threatened to kill the EMS crew and Deputy escort.
This individual stated he had taken Xanax, Meth and Suboxone. Deputies determined that he was under the influence.
Buddy Vaughn was charged with:
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Resisting arrest
- Disorderly conduct – second-degree
- Terroristic threatening – second-degree
- Menacing
- Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
- Assault – 4th degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
Buddy Vaughn being held in the Laurel County Correctional Center on a 5,000.00 CASH bond with a court date set for Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
