ARREST: Florida Man told Deputies that He thought He was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during Crash Investigation in Southeastern Kentucky

LONDON, KY (October 27, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Jamie Etherton along with shift Sgt. Brett Reeves arrested Brian Curtis Larson age 43 of Tampa, Florida on Wednesday afternoon October 27, 2021 at approximately 12:55 PM.

The arrest occurred on Keavy Road, approximately 6 miles southwest of London after deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle traffic crash in a ditch there.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies noted that the vehicle had been moved from the location of the traffic crash to a driveway nearby.

Deputies conducted an investigation on the driver determining that he was under the influence.

During the investigation, the driver became irate, yelling and cursing & told deputies he thought he was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

After being placed in the patrol vehicle, the driver began kicking the back passenger door window and continued to kick it while being transported to the detention facility.

Larson Brian Curtis was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree
  • Resisting arrest

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
