LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler arrested Malana Danielle Morris age 23 of Jellico, Tennessee on Friday night March 11, 2022 at approximately 7:19 PM.
The arrest occurred in a business parking lot off West Cumberland Gap Parkway. approximately 9 miles South of London after Sgt. Mehler was dispatched to a complaint of a female subject observed in a vehicle there in the parking lot that appeared to be possibly overdosing.
Upon arrival at the scene, Sgt. Mehler located the female subject in a gold colored Toyota Camry and upon awakening her conducted an investigation determining that she was under the influence.
In addition, this subject was found in possession of numerous hypodermic needles some capped some uncapped, Ziploc baggies, and tourniquet straps.
Malana Morris was charged with:
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
