MULTNOMAH COUNTY, OR (June 5, 2023) - On June 3, 2023, at approximately 4:50 p.m. Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) patrol deputies responded to the area of 37000 East Historic Columbia River Highway after several 911 calls about a domestic disturbance.
Witnesses reported to deputies they heard gun shots. Responding deputies located a man walking away from where the gunfire was heard and took him into custody. At the residence where the gunfire was believed to have occurred, deputies located a woman deceased from wounds consistent with a shooting.
The MCSO Detectives Unit and the East County Major Crimes Team are leading the homicide investigation. The team consists of members from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, Gresham Police Department, Oregon State Police, Port of Portland Police Department and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.
The name of the deceased will be released after family notifications are completed. At that time, suspect information will also be released.
