SOMERSET, KY - Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones is reporting that recently the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of bank fraud.
Customers are receiving text messages or phone calls from individuals/group pretending to be representatives of the customers bank.
The individuals/group are reporting to the customer that they are from the bank’s fraud center and then request that the customer verify themselves by providing the individual with account number, passwords, etc.
Banks will not contact you through text message and request sensitive information.
Please be careful who you provide your bank information to, so that your accounts remain protected and secure.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and local banks seek your assistance to provide the best service to our community and prevent further fraudulent activity.
