Knox County, Kentucky Sheriff Mike Smith Reports Enforcement Actions

BARBOURVILLE, KY - According to the Knox County, Ky. Sheriff's Department, Sheriff Mike Smith is reporting the following enforcement actions. 

On January 10, 2024, Deputy Jeremiah Williamson arrested Travis Blackwood age 30 of Corbin, KY on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for Criminal Mischeif-2nd Degree and Assault-4th Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On January 10, 2024, Deputy Dylan Lewis arrested Rachel Bays age 32 of Gray, KY on a Knox County Bench Warrant on a contempt of Court charge. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On January 11, 2024, at approximately 12:45 am Deputy Jesse Smith observed Nicholas Sexton age 33 of Middlesboro, KY sitting in a vehicle on Creek Mart Road in Flat Lick. Nicholas Sexton was wanted on four Bell County Bench Warrants for failure to appear on Improper Registration Plates, Careless Driving, Failure to Register Transfer of Motor Vehicle, No Registration Plates, Contempt of Court, and No Insurance. During the arrest, Deputy Smith located several individual bags of suspected methamphetamine, several clear empty bags, and two glass smoking pies. Nicholas Sexton was then charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree/Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct-2nd Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On January 12, 2024, at approximately 12:40 am Deputy Jesse Smith was dispatched to a complaint of a man threatening to burn a residence on KY 6 in Barbourville. When Deputy Smith arrived, he observed the man at the residence. There were several firearms located on the front porch. After conducting an investigation Deputy Smith arrested Curtis Reed age 61 of Barbourville, KY charging him with Possession of Firearms by a Convicted Felon and Terroristic Threatening-3rd Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On January 12, 2024, LT Sam Mullins received a report of a man fighting with people in the roadway on Hubbard Branch Road in Flat Lick, KY. After arriving at the location, LT Mullins arrested Harold K Mills age 31 of Flat Lick, KY charging him with Public Intoxication/Controlled Substance, Disorderly Conduct-2nd Degree, Criminal Tresspasing-3rd Degree, and Criminal Mischeif-3rd Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On January 13, 2024, Deputy Jeremiah Williamson arrested Rodney Gray age 38 of Corbin, KY on a Pulaski County Bench Warrant on an Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and a Kentucky Parole Board Warrant for a Parole Violation charge. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On January 14 2024 Deputy Jeremiah Williamson was dispatched to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Cypress Drive in Barbourville. After contacting the parties involved, Deputy Williamson arrested Eric Mills age 30 of Barbourville, KY charging him with Criminal Trespassing-3rd Degree, Menacing, Terroristic Threatening-3rd Degree and Assault-4th Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On January 18 2024 Deputy Dylan Lewis arrested Finley Smith age 43 of Dewitt, KY on a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to pay the fine on No Insurance, License to Be in Possession, and Contempt of Court charges. Finley Smith was also wanted on a Laurel County Bench Warrant for failure to pay the fine on an Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle charge. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On January 20, 2024, Deputies arrested Allen Wesley Smith age 47 of Barbourville, KY on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition/Auto-over $10,000, Criminal Mischeif-1st Degree, and Burglary-3rd Degree. He was also wanted on a Knox County Bench Warrant on a contempt of Court charge. Allen Smith was also charged with Receiving Stolen Property-over $10, 000 when a stolen vehicle from Laurel County was found in his possession. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
The arrest warrant was the result of an investigation conducted by Deputy Jesse Smith. into the theft, burglary, and property damage that occurred on December 31, 2023.
