GEORGETOWN, KY – According to the Kentucky State Police (KSP), Post 12, Frankfort is investigating a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in Scott County.
The collision occurred at the intersection of McClelland Circle and Lusby Path at approximately 11:50 PM Saturday night February 17th, 2024.
A 2016 Ford Edge driven by Jearl Porter, 57 years of age of Scott County was traveling West on McClelland Circle.
When approaching the intersection of Lusby Path, Crystal Aguilar Lopez, 48 years of age of Scott County attempted to cross the road and was struck by the Ford Edge.
Ms. Lopez was transported from the scene by Scott County EMS to University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital with life threatening injuries.
Ms. Lopez was later pronounced deceased by the Fayette County Coroners office and next of kin was notified.
The investigation is ongoing.
