LEXINGTON, KY — The Kentucky State Police (KSP) reports that the KSP Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been requested by the Lexington Police Department (LPD) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Lexington on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at approximately 1:17 a.m. EST on Regency Point Path.
CIRT detectives arrived on the scene and began an investigation into the incident.
A male subject was transported from the scene for life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased the University of Kentucky Hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the Commonwealth as requested by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
