LONDON, KY - London Police Chief Jerry Hollon is reporting that on Friday, August 16, 2024 at approximately 10:40 am, LPD Officer Eric Wilkerson arrested Matthew Carl Woolever, age 40 of Williamsburg, KY.
Officers from the London Police Department were notified of a vehicle collision at the intersection of KY-192 & KY-229 where one vehicle involved had the fled the scene.
LPD Officers located the vehicle, operated by Woolever, a few miles away on Conley Road.

Through investigation, it was determined that Matthew Carl Woolever was operating the vehicle at the time of the collision and was also under the influence. Officer Wilkerson was assisted on scene by Lt. Drew Jackson, Detective Dillon Blair and Detective Wes Wolfe.
Matthew Woolever was arrested and charged with:
- Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence of Controlled Substance - 2nd Offense
- Leaving the Scene of Accident-Failure to Render Aid or Assistance
- Disregarding Traffic Control Device-Traffic Light
- Failure to Wear Seat Belts.
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
