NELSON COUNTY, KY - The Nelson County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Katelyn Rogers, charging her with multiple serious offenses related to an unlawful and exploitative operation.
The following charges reflect the culmination of an investigation into activities occurring between February 2024 and May 30, 2024, in Nelson County.
Summary of Charges against Katelyn Rogers
- Human Trafficking —Between February 2024 and May 30, 2024, Katelyn Rogers is accused of operating an unlicensed child care facility. Investigators allege that Rogers coerced and manipulated Sarah Woford into working without compensation, using intimidation to compel her continued labor.
- Criminal Abuse, 1st Degree —On May 30, 2024, Rogers is alleged to have intentionally abused a child under the age of twelve, identified as C.M., by causing acts of torture, cruel confinement, or other forms of cruel punishment.
- Tampering with Physical Evidence —On May 30, 2024, Rogers is accused of tampering with evidence by altering video footage and deleting text messages to hinder an ongoing investigation.
- Tampering with a Witness —On May 30, 2024, Rogers attempted to influence and intimidate Sarah Woford, instructing her to mislead investigators regarding the number of children in their care and other critical details of the operation.
These charges are the result of an investigation by the Nelson County Sheriff's Office and other state agency's.
The indictment represents accusations of criminal activity, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
