FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 30, 2019) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:
John Senter has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Nominating Committee.
- John Senter, of Frankfort, is a financial institution lender. He will serve for a term expiring June 13, 2022.
The Kentucky Workers' Compensation Nominating Committee meets when deemed necessary to select a list of three nominees to fill each vacancy on the Workers’ Compensation Board.
Kate S. Latts, Lindy B. Street, Douglass H. Owen III, B. Jeffry Kosse, Bruce C. Merrick, Angela C. Leet and Laura Melillo Barnum have been appointed as members of the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Center for the Arts.
- Kate S. Latts, of Prospect, is a vice president of marketing. She will serve for a term expiring April 29, 2022; and
- Lindy B. Street, of Louisville, is retired. She will serve for a term expiring April 29, 2023; and
- Douglass H. Owen III, of Louisville, is a commercial real estate agent. He will serve for a term expiring April 29, 2021; and
- Jeffry Kosse, of Louisville, is a banker. He will serve for a term expiring April 29, 2021; and
- Bruce C. Merrick, of Louisville, is chairman of Dant Clayton Corp. He will serve for a term expiring April 29, 2023; and
- Angela C. Leet, of Louisville, is an environmental engineer and entrepreneur. She will serve for a term expiring April, 29, 2023; and
- Laura Melillo Barnum, of Louisville, is a vice president of global community investment. She will serve for a term expiring April 29, 2023.
The Board of Directors of the Kentucky Center for the Arts promotes growth and development of the arts, convention trade, tourism and the hotel industry within Jefferson County and the Commonwealth through utilization of the Kentucky Center and activities authorized to enhance these and public interest.
Bill A. Webb and Mark A. Schroer have been appointed as members of the State Board of Medical Licensure.
- Bill A. Webb, of Pikeville, is a physician. He will represent the Kentucky Osteopathic Medical Association and serve for a term expiring Aug. 31, 2023; and
- Dr. Mark A. Schroer, of Newport, is a physician. He will represent the Kentucky Medical Association and serve for a term expiring Aug. 31, 2023.
The State Board of Medical Licensure ensures that only qualified medical and osteopathic physicians are licensed and initiates appropriate disciplinary action in response to violations of the Medical Practice Act. The Board also regulates the practice of Physician Assistants, Surgical Assistants, Athletic Trainers and Acupuncturists in the Commonwealth.
Benjamin Collier, Jeffery T. Smith and John Overton Sheller have been appointed as members of the State Labor Relations Board.
- Benjamin Collier, of Garrison, is a union president. He will serve for a term expiring April 24, 2020; and
- Dr. Jeffery T. Smith, of Monticello, is a chiropractor. He will serve for a term expiring April 24, 2021; and
- John Overton Sheller, of Prospect, is an attorney. He will serve for a term expiring April 24, 2023.
The State Labor Relations Board assists in resolving disputes between public employers and their labor organization.
Kevin L. Russell has been appointed as a member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. State Commission.
- Kevin L. Russell, of Radcliff, is a tank mechanic. He will serve for a term expiring Dec. 12, 2020.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. State Commission serves to promote the principles of racial equality and nonviolent social change espoused by Martin Luther King, Jr.
Andrew Farmer and Teresa Boyd have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Board of Dentistry.
- Dr. Andrew Farmer, of Hyden, is a pediatric dentist. He will represent licensed dentists and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2023; and
- Dr. Teresa Boyd, of Nicholasville, is a dentist. She will represent licensed dentists and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2023.
The Kentucky Board of Dentistry regulates and controls the licensing and conduct of dentists within the Commonwealth.
Steven J. Wills has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners.
- Dr. Steven J. Wills, of Owensboro, is a veterinarian. He will serve for a term expiring Sept. 28, 2023.
The Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners regulates and controls the licensing and conduct of veterinarians within the Commonwealth.
Kerry Thomas Cauthen, Douglas Adair Hendrickson, Kenneth Alan Jackson and Mark Francis Simendinger have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission.
- Kerry Thomas Cauthen, of Lexington, is a consignor. He will serve for a term expiring April 27, 2022; and
- Douglas Adair Hendrickson, of Maysville, is a real estate developer. He will serve for a term expiring April 27, 2022; and
- Kenneth Alan Jackson, of Lexington, is an attorney. He will serve for a term expiring April 27, 2022; and
- Mark Francis Simendinger, of Edgewood, is a general manager. He will serve for a term expiring April 27, 2022.
The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission is charged with the responsibility of regulating the conduct of horse racing and parimutuel wagering on horse racing and related activities within the Commonwealth.
Larry Hiller has been appointed as City Commissioner for the City of California, Kentucky.
- Larry Hiller, of California, is a maintenance professional. He will serve according to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.
California is a home-rule class city in Campbell County. As of the 2010 census, the population was 90.
