Batavia, OH Man Arrested for Murder in Shooting Death of Aurora, IN Man in Pulaski Co., KY

SOMERSET, KY — Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones reports the arrest of an Ohio man for murder at a residence located in the Garland Road section of Pulaski County on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

At approximately 1:28 am on July 6, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the residence after receiving information that someone had been shot there.

Following Deputies’ arrival, Thomas Wayne Dick, 35, of Aurora, Indiana, was found to have suffered a gunshot wound. Mr. Dick was later determined to be deceased at the scene.

Responding Deputies contacted the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, who responded to the scene. As a result of evidence and information collected on July 6, Detective Ryan Jones charged Anthony Scott Emerson, 35, of Batavia, Ohio, with:

  • Murder

Emerson had initially called Pulaski 911 Dispatch to report the shooting, informing 911 Dispatch that he had shot Mr. Dick during the course of an altercation with Mr. Dick.

Anthony Emerson was lodged at the Pulaski County Detention Center where he is currently being held on a $1,000,000 cash or property bond with court appearance scheduled for Wednesday, July 23, 2025 1:30 PM.

Det. Jones is continuing the investigation. Det. Jones was assisted in the initial investigation by Sergeant Alex Wesley, Deputies Evan Whitis, Ronnie Golden, Noah Dishman, and Jared Pierce, Deputy Coroners Keith Price and David Gross, Tateville Volunteer Fire Department, and Somerset/Pulaski EMS.
