LSO Deputies make drug arrest at restaurant

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Shannon Jones along with Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested Timothy Long age 53 of a motel room in southern Laurel County early Tuesday morning June 7, 2016 at approximately 4:46 AM.

The arrest occurred at a restaurant off US 25-E after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that a male subject was acting strange and falling asleep in his food.

When deputies arrived at the scene they found this subject almost passed out in his hashbrowns and upon talking to him noticed his eyes were bloodshot and he had slurred speech and could hardly walk. This subject stated he had taken meth and Suboxone. Deputies determined that this subject was under the influence.

In addition, they found this subject in possession of a white substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

Timothy Long was charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; public intoxication; and 3 counts of prescription controlled substances not in the original container.

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
