Mrs. Korena Maxie, age 79 of Greenbriar, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at her home.
She was born on Sunday, March 17, 1935 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Irvin and Lucy Sams Bowman. She was retired from CertainTeed and worked at CTA Acoustics and was a member of the Island Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband: George Maxie, Jr. of Greenbriar, her son: Jeff Maxie and his wife Diane of Greenbriar, her grandchildren: Larry Bailey, Crystal Maxie, Candice Maxie and Jennifer Maxie. Also surviving are her siblings: Lloyd Bowman of Michigan, Lucy Ellen Jones of Ohio, Aletha Powell of Colorado, and Perlina Williams of Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Irvin and Lucy Bowman, and her brothers: Charlie Bowman and Irvin Bowman, Jr.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Korena Maxie will be conducted on Saturday, January 3 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. George Grigsby and Rev. Wendell Carmack will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Reid Cemetery in the Greenbriar Community.
Visitation will be held on Friday evening after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
