LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Travis Napier along with K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler arrested Billy Sasser age 57 of Campground Court, Corbin on Thursday night September 16, 2021 at approximately 6:55 PM.
The arrest occurred off Campground Court, approximately 10 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint received from a female subject there stating that an occupant in a neighbor's residence had fired a shot through her window.
When deputies arrived at the scene an investigation was conducted and it was learned that allegedly at least three shots had been fired from the suspect’s residence.
Deputies noted they observed a cluster of shots fired from the suspect's window and at least one shot that had traveled through a window into the victim's residence there.
Deputies made entry at the suspect's residence and located a Taurus. 45 caliber pistol and four spent cases in the chamber.
The suspect stated that he had had a problem with children in the nearby residence and that is who he was shooting at.
Billy Sasser was charged with:
- Four counts of wanton endangerment – first-degree
This individual was was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
