Human Trafficking Operation in Northeast Tennessee nets Eleven Men from KY, NC, SC, TN & WV

BRISTOL, TN (March 13, 2023) – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is reporting that a two-day undercover operation by special agents with the TBI Human Trafficking Unit, the Bristol Police Department, the 2nd Judicial District Drug Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations, the 2nd Judicial District Attorney General’s Office, and the Tennessee Human Trafficking Task Force has resulted in the arrest of eleven men accused of seeking illicit sex from minors.

CPE awards $1.2 million in campus grants for summer bridge programs

FRANKFORT, KY -- The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education announced the third round of funding for summer bridge programs at Kentucky colleges and universities. Twenty-three campuses will receive grants of up to $50,000 focused on improving college preparation and retention of students.

Conviction in Murder of Louisville Metro Police Detective Deidre Mengedoht Upheld by Supreme Court of Kentucky

FRANKFORT, KY – Attorney General Daniel Cameron has announced that the Supreme Court of Kentucky unanimously upheld the conviction and sentence of Roger Burdette. On Christmas Eve in 2018, Burdette murdered Louisville Metro Police Detective Deidre Mengedoht by crashing a tanker truck into the detective's vehicle. Burdette was driving under the influence of controlled substances and streaming pornography at the time of the collision.
