Health insurance providers meeting the moment through boosted coverage for patients, additional supports for hospitals/clinics and charitable giving to at-risk communities

FRANKFORT, KY – The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges for Kentucky, and the members of the Kentucky Association of Health Plans (KAHP). Made up of the Commonwealth’s Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and commercial health insurance providers, KAHP is providing support to patients using care management programs that ensure providers have the highest quality, real-time data to identify, diagnose and treat Kentucky’s most vulnerable patients.

McConnell: 'Kentucky's farmers can receive the assistance necessary to continue feeding our country and the world'

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) applauded an announcement from President Donald Trump and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue to deliver $16 billion of direct relief to American producers, including Kentucky farmers, through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). Between May 26 and August 28, farmers can submit applications through their local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office for the CFAP to help cover losses incurred by the coronavirus pandemic. The federal funding was made available by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Senator McConnell introduced the CARES Act, which became the largest economic rescue package in history, and led it to enactment in about a week.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced today Kentucky received $549,709 to help provide temporary housing, assistance, and supportive services to victims of family, domestic, and dating violence during the coronavirus pandemic. As news reports and studies convey the increase in family violence during the coronavirus, this federal funding will expand services to help Kentuckians in need.
